About Sandisk
SanDisk was founded in 1988 by non-volatile memory experts Dr. Eli Harari and Sanjay Mehrotra. The company is currently headquartered in Milpitas, California, and has offices throughout Asia (including Taiwan, China and Japan), Europe (including the UK, Spain, and Ireland), and Isreal (including Kfar Sava, Tefen, and Omer). SanDisk develops and manufactures Flash memory in various formats and digital audio players. The company began developing flash memory when the founding duo recognized that digital cameras would need digital storage and computing units would be evermore so compact and mobile if using a similar technology. The American multinational corporation is now the most recognizable name in compact memory technology.
SanDisk is a manufacturer of a variety of memory cards used portable digital devices, such as CompactFlash, MultiMediaCard, RS-MMC, xD-Picture Card, SD cards (including miniSD and microSD), and Memory Stick. SanDisk also produces a WiFi cards, USB flash drives, memory card readers, USB smart drives, solid-state drives, MegaSIM (high-capacity SIM) cards, audio and video players, and data recovery software.
